Weird Science may have been a hit movie song but Science has produced quite a string of successes over the centuries.
Now there is much more. Come July 11, Apple shall unveil its - wait for it - iPhone 3G! It is reputed to be twice as fast and will be offered at a whopping half price.
The new features include a fast 3G cellular network for surfing the Web, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for enterprise/business, maps with GPS, and many other innovative software at the Apple App Store! Remember you heard it here first.
Let us go to Canada, where young multiple award-winning Mr. Burd has discovered the secret of dealing with the seemingly insurmountable worldwide discarded polyethylene or waste polythene bags menace.
Apparently, using a combination of bacteria, he was able to literally get rid of about half the test waste plastic bags in six weeks - the 'Sphingomonas and Pseudomonas' bacteria are projected to eat up everything in their path in less than three months!
Is all that great science or what?
Technology and life have a chicken and egg relationship. Life derives a new meaning from technology, while the living strive to improve technology so that life flourishes safely and healthily... Do indulge awhile: words have an impact!
