There truly is unstarched humor in politics

The stiff upper lip and straight posture required in official political circles often masks the normal mortals in those starched and bleached function-coded clothing of many senior politicians and corporate personnel.

Take Mr. Obama's family, for instance. I understand that one of his two daughters 'ordered' him not to 'mess with...' her prime-time television viewing slot on Wednesday.

That same thought seemed to be aired by the ABC television network, which refused to echo the moves of NBC, CBS, and Fox television houses with respect to the 30-minute political TV ads.

Of course, one could not miss the opportunity of adding that CNN says no thanks to Obama half-hour.

Then there was the one about French President Sarcozy, who threatened to sue a toy company that made a voodoo doll out of him!

When asked what the big deal was about people buying his image on a toy for sticking pins into, he is said to have replied, "Ow. Ow-ow-ow-ow."

Yeah, nobody loves an injection of that kind!

By the way, it seems that Mr. Obama has the election all wrapped up even right now. He has been endorsed by both the New York Times and the Anchorage Daily News of Alaska.

However, that may be the biggest joke of all, especially because the venerable NYT has been woefully wrong sometimes in its presidential predictions in the past.

Who knows if the subscribers of the Alaskan daily are large enough to make a difference outside the state?
