As in Africa, so also on the moon

Yes, it is significantly official: there are bucketfuls of water waiting to be tapped on the lunar surface.

Decades from now, what stunning vistas will we see before us in either direction in space? Would we be hostile to lunar life forms and aborigines, unlike the ancient colonialists displayed towards Africans during the slave trade?

Who will be the next Thomas Jefferson in spirit, to declare apprehensively to us, "....He has waged cruel war upon human nature itself, violating its most sacred rights of life and liberty in the persons of a distant people who never offended him, captivating and carrying them into slavery in another hemisphere, or to incur miserable death in their transportation thither. Does that sound anything at all like me? Africa's colonization was for mineral wealth; now, the moon's is for water!
